Abstract

The 42nd annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) was held in Copenhagen-Malmo, September 14-17, 2006. This scientific program brought together international panels of speakers who discussed recent advances in epidemiology, genetics, pathophysiology and emerging therapeutic strategies in diabetes mellitus and related disorders. This article focuses on a broad range of new therapeutic possibilities and advances in the management of diabetes mellitus.
