Demonstration that ethanol potentiates the GABAA-activated Cl- current in central mammalian neurons
Abstract
Previous studies have suggested that ethanol potentiates GABA-mediated responses in the mammalian brain. In the present study, using patch-clamp techniques, we show that the GABAA-activated Cl- current was potentiated by ethanol in a subpopulation of mouse hippocampal cells.
