Tethered cord syndrome

Abstract

Tethered cord syndrome is a clinical phenomenon resulting from anatomic restriction of the normal movement of the spinal cord or vascular compromise leading to hypoxia of its distal structures. Tethering can be acquired (secondary) or congenital (primary).
