Equipment donations to colleagues working in developing countries may be a very effective form of aid, provided that the items supplied follow international guidelines and are practical for the receiving unit. A number of predictable difficulties may arise during the process and this article demonstrates what can be achieved by a few enthusiastic volunteers.
