[ECT: remains of a gone era or aging tool for the future]
Abstract
Electroconvulsive therapy is nowadays a very well codified treatment, safe and effective. In spite of this, its use remains scarce in the French speaking part of Switzerland, and fuels passionate and irrational discussions. A case record, and the written account of the patient, introduces a recall of the history and present state of this technique. A discussion about the difficulty of access to ECT is also offered.
