Top hospitals record a 71% lower mortality rate
Abstract
Pancreatitis, pulmonary embolism, and diabetic acidosis and coma see the greatest improvements in mortality rates. Structure, process, and evaluation cited as the keys to achieving high quality. Available process measures from national organizations seem to contribute to lower mortality rates.
