[Pre-travel prophylactic measures]
Abstract
Before a patient embarks on a journey, his immunization status needs to be checked and, where applicable, booster vaccinations or specific vaccinations for the destination country given. In last-minute travelers, some vaccinations may still usefully be given - even up to the day of departure. Whether malaria prophylaxis is required for the planned country of destination should be checked against current recommendations.
