Retinopathy in Rickettsia conorii infection: case report in an immunocompetent host
Abstract
Mediterranean spotted fever (MSF) is an acute febrile, zoonotic disease caused by Rickettsia conorii. MSF is considered a relatively benign disease, but severe complications occur occasionally. However, reports of ocular involvement are few. We describe a case of retinal manifestation in a patient with R. conorii infection.
