(B) Conversion of a Gly-Ser-Cys tripeptide into a oxazole–thiazole pair via an oxazoline–thiazoline intermediate. This two-step process of cyclodehydration and aromatization occurs in microcin, patellamide, and now SLS posttranslational modification.
