Abstract

Hypoglycemia is a commonly occurring iatrogenic event in hospitalized patients. Nurses play an important role in the detection, treatment, and prevention of hypoglycemia. The literature regarding hypoglycemia in hospitalized adults and implications for nursing practice is reviewed.
