Abstract
This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies/article-withdrawal). This article has been retracted at the request of the ASRM Publications Committee and Editor in Chief of Fertility and Sterility. The Committee began an investigation after a reader reported an undisclosed conflict of interest. Specifically, the study utilized a myo-inositol supplement produced by a pharmaceutical company of which the corresponding author of the article was co-founder and president. This affiliation was not disclosed when the manuscript was submitted to the journal, but was admitted by the corresponding author in correspondence during this investigation. The co-authors state that they were unaware of the corresponding author's conflict of interest. The corresponding author was not able to provide the original trial data in response to the Committee's inquiries about errors it detected in the statistical calculations of baseline characteristics in Table 1 and in the results, which errors undermined the validity of the trial results. Inquiries to the authors' institutions did not resolve the concerns. Because of the undisclosed conflict of interest and other errors, the Committee has determined to retract the article.
