Improvement in peripheral nerve function immediately after haemodialysis
Abstract
During haemodialysis there is a growth in the amplitude of muscle and nerve action potentials evoked by median nerve stimulation. It is therefore suggested that even a single period of haemodialysis causes some temporary improvement in the defective peripheral nerve function that accompanies uraemia.
