What are we waiting for?
Abstract
Suzanne Hobbs and Neil Seeman have written thoughtful and thought-provoking papers on the interrelationships between public policy and the management of the current obesity epidemic. In this commentary, I discuss their respective arguments and offer my own perspectives. There is no shortage of ideas on addressing the obesity epidemic; the difficulty lies in determining which of the proposed interventions shows promise. Ultimately, a long-term approach is required--losing weight is a slow business.
