The challenge of herbal therapies for prostate cancer
Abstract
The paper by Singh et al. shows that silibinin inhibits prostate cancer growth in the TRAMP mouse model. Among its other properties, silibinin inhibits the progression of prostate cancer by decreasing angiogenesis and tumor invasion. Identification of the biological effects of herbal remedies such as silibinin is critical for their development as anticancer treatments.
