Practical use of self/home blood pressure (BP) monitoring and ambulatory BP (ABP) monitoring in clinical practice. Self‐BP monitoring should be performed according to strict guidelines prior to clinical decision making (see text for details). Following antihypertensive therapy, the determination to use self/home BP monitoring vs ABP monitoring is made according to availability, clinical judgment, and insurance coverage.
