Abstract

DC cardioversion is a safe, simple procedure for the management of patients with tachyarrhythmias. Its great advantages in an emergency are its immediate effect and the avoidance of the potential side effects of drug therapy. It should be considered in the management of any patient with a tachyarrhythmia.
