Physical and psychosexual pubertal development: physiology and pathophysiology of puberty with lessons learned from those with disorders of sex development
Abstract
This review updates information concerning control of puberty, diagnosis and treatment of precocious puberty and behavioral changes, which appear to be related to environmental changes, rather than physical timing of changes. The relative role of hormone exposure during fetal life or later are still unclear.
