Pathophysiology of psoriasis
Abstract
Psoriasis is a disease characterized by benign but unrestricted epithelial growth. The molecular pathophysiology of this unregulated growth has been discussed. A better understanding of the role of the cell surface, cyclic nucleotides, arachidonic acid-prostaglandin metabolism, and polyamines in psoriasis may clarify our understanding of this disease and produce clues pertinent to a general understanding of growth regulation.
