Why bother with god?
Abstract
An account is offered of a longterm psychotherapy with a patient for whom religious experience, especially her image of God, was central in the work of the therapy. The patient's image of God is explored psychodynamically in order to discern the impact this image had on the therapeutic relationship as well as the patient's growth.
