Abstract

A 13-year-old girl was referred to our hospital for chest pain and atelectasis of left upper lobe on chest X-ray film. Bronchoscopy revealed an endobronchial tumor obstructing left main bronchus. Left upper lobectomy with bronchoplasty was performed. The tumor was a polyp 34 x 17 x 17 mm in size and obstructed left main bronchus. Histologically the tumor was a low-grade malignant mucoepidermoid carcinoma with malignant pleural effusin. The patient has been well and free of recurrence for 8 years postoperatively.
