Abstract

The first version of The Danish Quality Programme for hospitals is completed and implementation will begin in 2009. The first elements of the Danish Quality Programme within municipalities (primary health care) and the first version for pharmacies are ready for implementation. The Danish Quality Programme aims to improve quality within the various sectors and across sectors. If the focus on The Danish Quality Programme is sustained and cooperation between the various national quality programmes is successful, we may in a few years find ourselves among the best providers of quality health services in the world.
