The upper panel illustrates IFNα-induced proliferation via the ISGF3 complex and the lower panel depicts endogenous level (uninduced) IFNα signaling in which IRF2 acts on the same hypothetical gene to constitutively supress expression. B) Outcome of HSC proliferation in the presence of endogenous IFNα signaling, induced IFNα signaling (↑IFNα) and in the IRF2 knockout.
