Nucleotide sequences were randomly selected from their respective databases representing each of the major subtypes from each virus –. Only non-recombinant genomes were included. Maximum likelihood trees were built using GARLI (Genetic Algorithm for Rapid Likelihood Inference, available at http://www.nescent.org/). Trees have been drawn to the same scale.
