Abstract

In this third paper in the series on dentistry in companion animals, the development, anatomy and physiology of canine teeth are discussed. A number of dental terms which are frequently used as well as the veterinary dental nomenclature are explained in detail. Finally, attention is paid to the conditions which have to be satisfied by a fitting set of canine teeth as regards the relationship between the contacting surfaces of the upper and lower teeth occlusion.
