Abstract

Operations were performed on 30 patients with scarred constrictions of the distal portion of the choledochus and dilatation of the common bile duct with the clinical picture of mechanical jaundice and cholangitis. In none of the patients concrements were detected in the gallbladder and duct. The authors do not consider the peripheral diverticula to be the decisive factor in pathogenesis of cholelithiasis in this category of patients.
