Abstract

The author comments the studies about midfacial ageing of Lambros as well as those of Rohrich and Pessa. The ageing becomes obvious through the autonomization of all the anatomical subunits of the midface and particularly the appearance of the limits of these areas. It seems that the loss of volume is not global but area-dependant. The modifications of the lid aperture highlights the same process and seams to be induced by both the orbicularis oculi muscle action and the modifications of these lid-tissues. The author proposes practical conclusions to these observations.
