Harmonization of antimicrobial susceptibility testing breakpoints in Europe: implications for reporting intermediate susceptibility
Abstract
Harmonization of antimicrobial susceptibility testing breakpoints across Europe has resulted in the reintroduction of the intermediate susceptibility categorization into the BSAC susceptibility testing method for a wide range of antibiotic pathogen test pairs. The implications of this, for laboratories and prescribers, are discussed.
