Respiratory protection-preparing for H1N1 influenza
Abstract
This article alerts occupational health nurses to the issuance of new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Protection regarding respiratory protection when in contact with patients with confirmed or suspected H1N1 virus infection. Additionally, guidance from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is provided for situations in which employers are unable to obtain sufficient supplies of disposable N95 respirators for which their personnel have been fit-tested.
