["Carry-over"--from the standpoint of adult neurology]
Abstract
In Japan, pediatric neurologists usually continue to follow up patients with intractable pediatric neurological diseases after they become the age of twenty, which are often called "carry-over" in Japanese. However, the present social security system for the disabled does not allow smooth transition from pediatric to adult medical and nursing care systems. In this review, the best possible system to resolve the "carry-over" issues is discussed.
