Aspirin for the primary prevention of cardiovascular events: considerations regarding the risk/benefit
Abstract
This update of the 2002 US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommendation on the benefits and harms of aspirin for the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease (including myocardial infarction and stroke) suggests that the benefits of aspirin are likely to outweigh the risks in middle-aged and older men and women at increased risk for cardiovascular events.
