(B) Microscopic view of a skin biopsy specimen (original magnification × 10) showing a crateriform-like appearance with keratinocytes containing characteristic eosinophilic inclusion bodies (asterisks) due to poxvirus infection. Depositions of black pigment are seen in the superficial dermis.
