Abstract

Our present level of knowledge of the compartment-syndrome, which is represented here, is based on an intensive literary study, our own scientific researches and clinical experiences. The results are summarized in thesises. The compartment-syndrome is to be noticed in more than 80% in the region of the forearm or shank. It has to be diagnosed and treated short-termly. If the patient is unconscious and with several fractures, it is difficult to diagnose the compartment-syndrome. You ever have to think of the compartment-syndrome.
