The effect of epidermal growth factor on corneal wound healing: practical considerations for therapeutic use
Abstract
Modulation of wound healing is particularly important for the corneal and refractive surgeon. At least some of the unpredictability in effect observed following radial keratotomy, penetrating keratoplasty, and photorefractive keratectomy, as well as the failure of epikeratoplasty may be explained by the variations in wound healing.
