Psychological consequences of cystic fibrosis in adults
Abstract
Increasing numbers of cystic fibrosis sufferers are surviving to adulthood. This article reviews the findings of psychological research into this group during the last decade. The psychological difficulties met by patients, families and doctors are reported. Illness coping strategies developed by sufferers, which may be applicable to other chronic diseases, are discussed.
