The mental disturbance in patients with glaucoma is found to be different from ordinary persons in clinic using psychological assessment tools. The mood changes seen in these patients are closely related to the incidence of glaucoma, medication, surgery and quality of life. A comprehensive and systematic understanding of the roles of the psychological characteristics in the occurrence and development of glaucoma will provide significant guidance in establishing a rational and standard treatment of psychological intervention.
