N-Methyl-isosalsoline from Hammada scoparia
Abstract
1,2-dimethyl-6-meth-oxy-1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-isoquinolin-7-ol), C(12)H(17)NO(2), is a major alkaloid isolated from Hammada scoparia leaves. It belongs to the isoquinoline family and it was characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallographic techniques. The absolute configuration could not be reliably determined. An intermolecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond is present in the crystal structure.
