Role of the wound ostomy continence nurse in the home care setting: a patient case study
Abstract
The clinical and operational challenges in home care services are increasingly more acute. Quality patient care is the goal for all home care agencies. Wounds comprise over a third of all cases in home care. The most common wounds are surgical, pressure ulcers, and lower extremity vascular ulcers. The WOC Nurse can provide the expertise in wound management that promotes quality care and positive outcomes, both clinical and fiscal.
