This Statistical Brief compiles information from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) on emergency department (ED) visits related to eye injuries in 2008. Characteristics of ED visits for eye injuries are compared to all other types of injury-related visits. Age, patient location, most common specific injuries and causes of injury are examined by types of ED visits. All differences between estimates noted in the text are statistically significant at the 0.05 level or better.
