The AIDS litigation project. A national review of court and human rights commission decisions, Part II: Discrimination
Abstract
KIE: Gostin's article is the second in a two-part series reviewing case law and human rights commission rulings tracked by the AIDS Litigation Project since 1981. Part II covers 149 cases of discrimination described in complaints, legal briefs, settlements, and decisions by courts and rights commissions, and reviews major reports from federal and municipal antidiscrimination agencies, as well as from independent policy analysts . The major areas of discrimination litigation are education, employment, housing and property, insurance, and health care. Gostin concludes with a brief discussion of changes and trends in the pattern of discrimination against individuals with AIDS or HIV infection. Accompanying the article is a subject compilation of the case citations.
