Esophageal disorders in the elderly
Abstract
A variety of esophageal abnormalities produce the symptoms of heartburn, dysphagia, and/or chest pain in the elderly. Most such diseases also occur in younger patients, but some disorders are unique to the elderly or occur with increased frequency. Diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are discussed.
