[Seasonal nature of birth of schizophrenic patients]

Abstract

The author makes a bibliographical review of the studies on the seasonal nature of births of schizophrenic patients. These studies show the greatest rate of births to be in the winter months and at the beginning of spring. It can be deduced that the seasonal nature of births of schizophrenic patients may represent an important support for the hypothesis of the viral etiology of schizophrenia.
