[Traumatic blindness and decompression of the optical canal by the naso-sinusal route]
Abstract
By analyzing the pathophysiology for post-traumatic amaurosis and both the diagnosis and surgical decompression of the canalicular segment of the optic nerve with transethmoidosphenoidal approach a study of the historical evolution of the extracranial techniques for its decompression, as well as several treatments, complications and guidelines for patients diagnosed of post-traumatic blindness, is carried out.
