Sequential changes in cell-mediated immune responses to herpes simplex virus following primary herpetic infection in man
Abstract
During primary herpes simlex virus infections, sensitization to the virus was demonstrated at the time of presentation by lymphocyte blastogenesis. Recovery from infection coincided with development of the macrophage migration inhibition response, and it is suggested that macrophage activation by products of stimulated lymphocytes contributes to control of the infection.
