[Genetic determinants of restriction-modification systems in bacteria]
Abstract
The recent data on the molecular arrangement and functioning of the genetical determinants for the enzymes of restriction-modification systems are discussed. The problems of restriction endonucleases and methylases genes localization, regulation of activity of the genes for enzyme systems of the II type restriction-modification, characteristics of the primary structure of the genes and phylogeny of restriction endonucleases and methylases are reviewed.
