Abstract

We report a case of a parastomal hernia in which the stomach became incarcerated. This is an unusual yet serious complication of parastomal hernias.

Abdominal computed tomography: the stomach is clearly seen incarcerated in the parastomal hernia. This image also demonstrates the presence of free gas in the stomach wall (white arrow), which raised the suspicion of a visceral perforation.
