Cross-talk between insulin secretion and insulin signaling. Multiple components of insulin secretion are under the regulation of metabolic and neurohormonal signaling, including insulin signaling. APPL1 is involved in the direct regulation of insulin secretion, possibly by up-regulating the expression of SNARE proteins.
