Abstract

Arthroplasty of the hip without cement in poro-metal (JUDET type) represents real progress. However, per-operative bleeding is greater, 48 per cent of patients losing more than 2000 ml and 25 per cent more than 3000 ml. Various factors may influence the degree of haemorrhage: the operative indication, the time of the operation and the administration of Calcium heparinate are studied. Postoperatively, overall blood loss then in relation to per-operative bleeding were evaluated.
