Commentary: improving children's services: building partnerships between providers and researchers

Jim McGuirk et al. Adm Policy Ment Health. 2013 Jan.

Abstract

The authors offer a commentary on Gartland and colleagues' critical review of usual care (UC) provided to children in outpatient, mental health services. The authors, welcome opportunitunites to evaluate UC as opportunities to improve UC. However, they suggest that these efforts have to take part in a context that values and understands the needs of the providers, and voice of consumers. The authors support a provider and consumer-guided, real-world approach to the study of UC.
