Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of colorectal liver metastasis. Axial T1-weighted delayed post-contrast images: (a) pre- and (b) post-RFA of a solitary liver metastasis. The RFA lesion encompasses the entire metastasis with a margin to achieve adequate ablation. The RFA defect has a clearly demarcated low signal intensity rim due to the presence of haemosiderin. The central coagulative necrosis returns high signal intensity on T1-weighted images.
