[New application of monoclonal antibody for cancer diagnosis]
Abstract
Clinical significance of serodiagnosis of adenocarcinoma-associated antigen which were detected in our laboratory was discussed. Anti-idiotype monoclonal antibody against monoclonal antibody YH206 was prepared and found useful for the detection of anti-YH206 in patient sera. The simultaneous measurement of anti-YH206 antibody and YH206 antigen is of value and a new application of anti-idiotype antibody to the cancer diagnosis. The third point of the report was a result on mRNA expression in cancerous and non-cancerous tissues by Northern blotting method using CEA- and NCA-cDNA probes. Finally, it was reported that we prepared monoclonal antibodies to synthetic peptide which was identical to a part of CEA domain I (AAs 181-194). The reactivities were characterized and the usefulness to a detailed analysis of CEA epitope and the possible application to serodiagnosis were discussed.
